IDS-BUD to build the Dementia Treatment Centre in Otwock.
Dementia Treatment Centre in Otwock
November 2016 Otwock
On 28 November 2016 we signed a contract for the construction of the Dementia Treatment Centre in Otwock.
The investor is W INVESTMENTS S.A. INWESTYCJE B S.K.A. with its registered office in Warsaw (The company’s current general partner is Origin Otwock 1 Sp. z o.o. with its registered office in Warsaw at ul. Hajoty).
The purpose of this contract is to execute multi-discipline detailed designs with optimisations as well as to carry out construction, installation and cross-connection works as specified in the designs within the plot to provide comprehensive erection of the substructure and shell and core superstructure.
The contract provides for the possibility of developing and signing an amendment to the contract expanding the scope of works by carrying out a build-to-order project.
The Centre, with 120 long-term care beds and 30 day-care beds, will offer state-of-the-art rehabilitation and therapy solutions and a specialised geriatric outpatient clinic with special focus being on dementia. The facility will focus on patients with Alzheimer’s disease, especially those in the middle and late-stage of the disease, when caring for the patient becomes more challenging and exhausting for family members.
The investment includes adapting a part of the existing building and its expansion by a three-storied, basement building divided functionally and spatially into three specialised ‘clusters’.
The facility was designed and will be equipped in line with the latest trends in therapeutic architecture. During the design stage we consulted many top specialists from Canada and the US and established cooperation with leading dementia research institutes, which will assist the centre personnel on a regular basis.
We paid special attention to designing an adequate number of common areas, which were carefully thought-out in terms of space and equipment, where patients may participate in various therapy and rehabilitation activities which will stimulate their mental and memory processes.
Functional layout of the facility, its design, lighting, colours and equipment which are all in line with standards of therapeutic architecture will make it easier for patients to move around the building as well as minimise tension, aggression and depression in patients, which in consequence will improve their mood and reduce suffering.
